Launched in November 2005, the Marrakech Biennale is the first trilingual North African biennial bringing to the fore outstanding contemporary art, literature, film, and performance from both emerging and established artists. 

The 5th Edition titled WHERE ARE WE NOW? features over 90 international artists, more than 30 of which have produced new, site-specific commissions. 

This publication documents the new and important intellectual contributions made by the Biennale's participating artists, scholars, and critics reflecting on contemporary Moroccan identity and cultural production.
