A set of the Collected Spook Tales of E F Benson - five volumes comprising : The Terror by Night ; Mrs Amworth ; The Face and Sea Mist . Three of the volumes are INSCRIBED by the editor, Jack Adrian. The recipients were friends of Adrian and appear in a number of the volumes' Acknowledgments. Also included are letters to this couple from Christopher and Barbara Roden, founders and owners of the Ash Tree Press. Unique thus.
WRAPPERS : The wrappers on these copies are bright, unfaded and complete. They are unclipped. Sea Mist shows innocuous bruising to the upper edges. Look sharp in protective plastic.
BOOKS : The books are square and very tight. The boards are bright and very clean. The corners are sharp. The pages are clean and bright. No foxing. The closed page edges are unmarked. No dog-eared pages. The bindings are solid - no cracked hinges. There are no previous ownership inscriptions. No remainder marks. Volumes 1, 4, and 5 are inscribed by Jack Adrian. A very nice set in a protected wrappers. Please note that as this is a set of books, postage will be higher than standard.
