Illustrated by Michael Foreman. A UK first edition, first impression. There is a book seller's note loosely laid into the book noting that annotations in the text and on the rear endpaper have been made by Sir Julian Huxley.

The spine ends are gently rubbed and scuffed. The back panel is clean. As with the front panel, it shows light toning and bruising at the upper edge. Looks sharp in protective plastic.

The closed page edges are toned. There are annotations - by Sir Julian Huxley - in the text and on the rear endpaper. No foxing. No dog-eared pages. The binding is solid - no cracked hinges.
